Winter Poshak for Kanha Ji

सर्दी की पोशाक

Velvet, wool and warm linings for the cold months

When the mornings turn cold, Kanha Ji is dressed warm too. Winter poshak is cut from velvet or a wool blend, lined on the inside so nothing rough touches the idol, and usually sold with a small shawl and topi.

The colours run deeper than the rest of the year — maroon, bottle green, deep blue — because they hold their richness under diya light rather than washing out. If you keep only one seasonal set, this is the one that gets used most.

जब सुबह ठंडी होने लगे तो कान्हा जी को भी गर्म वस्त्र चाहिए। मखमल और ऊन की पोशाक, भीतर से मुलायम अस्तर के साथ, और साथ में छोटी शॉल और टोपी।

Questions

When should I switch to winter poshak?
Most households change around Kartik Purnima and stay in winter poshak until Basant Panchami.
Does velvet suit a brass idol?
Yes — deep maroon and bottle green sit particularly well against brass. On white marble, lighter velvets photograph better.
