Laddu Gopal size chart
Poshak for Kanha Ji is sold by a size number from 0 to 12 that matches the idol, not by centimetres. Measure once, note your number, and every future order is easy.
How to measure your Kanha Ji
- 1
Stand the idol on a flat surface
Place your Laddu Gopal upright on a table. Remove the mukut, pagdi and any mala — they add height that the poshak does not need to cover.
- 2
Measure base to the top of the head
Hold a measuring tape or a ruler beside the idol. Measure from the bottom of the base to the crown of the head. Note the number in inches.
- 3
Match the height to a size number
Find your measurement in the chart below. If you fall between two sizes, take the larger one — a slightly loose poshak drapes; a tight one does not go on at all.
Between two sizes? Always take the larger one. Poshak is stitched with a little ease, so a size up drapes properly — a size down often will not go on at all.

Sizing questions
- What size poshak fits a 6 inch Laddu Gopal?
- A 6 inch idol takes size 4. This is our most ordered size and the standard for a home mandir.
- Do I measure with the mukut on?
- No. Remove the mukut, pagdi and mala before measuring. The poshak is cut to the idol's own height, and including the crown will push you a size too large.
- My idol is between two sizes — which do I pick?
- Take the larger size. Poshak is stitched with a little ease, so a size up still drapes correctly, while a size down often will not fit over the idol at all.
- Is the size number the same across all sellers?
- The 0 to 12 convention is widely used, but the exact height a number maps to can vary slightly between makers. Our chart lists the height in inches beside every size so you can check rather than assume.
- Which sizes are most commonly bought?
- Size 4 (a 6 inch idol) and size 6 (an 8 inch idol) account for most orders. Size 2 is popular for travel and gifting.
- Can I get a size larger than 12?
- Sizes above 12 are made to order for temple idols. Message us with your measurement and we will confirm a timeline, usually 7 to 10 days.
